About Abigail ‘Abz’ zeitler
Abigail ‘Abz’ Zeitler was a Fall 13 Weenie, 2015 Chief Haunt, a devoted Longhorn and a cherished daughter and friend. During her time on the Forty Acres, she profoundly impacted every corner of campus she touched. As Chief Haunt, she worked on the UT Real Beauty Campaign to grow the initiative during its pivotal second year. Beyond Spirits, she rode on the Ozarks route of Texas 4000 during the summer of 2015. She cared deeply for others and sought to make the world a better place, and the UT community was better for having her in it.
About the endowment
In November 2016, Abz tragically took her life. Her legacy, however, continues to reverberate through Texas Spirits and UT at large. Beginning in February 2019, Texas Spirits is proud to launch an endowment campaign in Abz’ honor. The Abigail ‘Abz’ Zeitler Memorial Endowment will directly benefit UT Real Beauty, an initiative that Abz led in 2015, for years to come. The UT Real Beauty Campaign is an annual month-long, University-wide campaign focused on re-defining the concept of beauty that media has created in our minds. It is a cause that Abz held close to her heart and believed every person should hear.
